Thanks From Robotics Team 4105Written on February 8, 2011
Morton Consulting had the great opportunity to be a sponsor for Glen Allen High School’s FIRST Robotics Tech Challenge Team 4105, the Teal Tornadoes.
The FIRST competition is a wonderful event and program that challenges high schools students around the world to work with teachers and engineers in a robotics competition. Each team builds a robot to accomplish a specific task (like putting a ball through a hoop), and they are tested in a competition against other teams’ robots.
After over 30 qualification rounds, Teal Tornadoes were ranked 2nd out of 24 teams from all over Virginia!
Carol Edelman of Glen Allen High School recently sent all of the team’s sponsors a message of thanks (and letting us know about their great success!). We thought we’d share her message with everyone.
To our sponsors:
The Teal Tornadoes, team 4105, would like to thank you all for your financial support in making our rookie year so successful! It couldn’t of happened without your help!
This year we successfully competed at the Central and Eastern qualifiers where our team came in 2nd place on the playing field and won the Think Award for their well-documented engineering notebook. The team was also named a finalist for the Rockwell Innovation Award and the Inspire Award (FIRST highest honor) and qualified for the state championships!
Please join us at the states competition at UVA’s University Hall February 12th as watch us compete against the best robots from Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC. Come cheer us on and visit us in our pits!
Again, thank you for making our first year so successful!
